S.N Veerasamy was a prominent lawyer and the first chairman of the pre-war C.I.A.M (Central Indian Association of Malaya). S.N.Veerasamy also became the first member of the Federal Legislative Council of the Federated Malay States in 1928. The Legislative Council was the legislative body of the Federated States of Malaya.The Federated Malay States (FMS) was a federation of four protected states in the Malay Peninsula which was made up of Selangor, Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang.Established by the British government in 1895 it lasted until 1946.
