Datuk M. Magendren and Datuk N. Mohandas: The First Malaysians to Conquer Everest
On the 23rd of May,1997 M. Magendren and N. Mohandas made history by being the first Malaysians to reach the summit of Mt Everest.Fourteen years later they were awarded the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN) which carries the title Datuk,by the Penang government in recognition of their contribution.
